Well, in the world of R/C racing, as I have come to find out, a lot of the men are extremely concerned with how their cars/trucks/buggies/whatever look. Seriously? You're driving on a dirt track, crashing into stuff, scratching the bodies up to no end, yet you want it to look pretty? Sometimes I wonder whether men realize how much sense they don't make at times like these. I digress.
So, for the sake of making his R/C dealership (I swear we're beginning to have so many of these things in the house it feels like we own a dealership) look "totally awesome" aka pretty, my husband is very particular with his paint jobs. Mind you, he does these almost weekly for all of his lot.
A couple of months ago, he tried to wrangle me into painting a body for him. I said no. I was not about to try my hand at something I'd never done before - involving spray paint, which I am HORRIBLE with - on one of his precious car bodies. I would never get over the self-induced guilt if I ruined it. Then, I apparently was given a crazy pill in my sleep, because last week I said yes.
Here is what it turned out to be:
Not too shabby for my first paint job, right? I was pretty pleased with it. There was a spot with a run, but other than that, everything ended up coming out pretty nicely.
Obviously, there is a car that this goes on top of, but my husband was a bit consumed with a project and couldn't put it together for me before I took pictures. However, after I took these and downloaded them, he put the car together. I'm just too lazy to get back up. So, this is what you get! :-)
Oh, and by the way...some of the stuff on there are stickers (TLR, 22, Pro-Line, Tekin.) I didn't paint those parts.
